FAQs- About the Online Application

Q: I've forgotten my username and password. Can I retrieve my username and password for an online application already submitted?
A:
Yes. Click on the “Forgot your password?” link located on our application login page. Enter your username or e-mail address. You will receive an email reply containing both your username and password. Click here for our application login page.

Q: I previously completed an online application and would like to reapply. Will I need to create a new account?
A:
No. The online application will only allow one account per person. You may resubmit your online application by logging into your existing account and updating/editing your application questions.

Q: What is the employment process for teachers with a credential/license?
A:

Q: What is the employment process for teachers without a license/credential?
A:

Q: Can the initial interview be done over the phone?
A:
No. The initial interview is conducted face to face with a recruitment specialist.

Q: Do my transcripts need to be sealed?
A:
No. However, transcripts will need to have the official university “seal”.

Q: What do I do after I have been placed on an employment eligibility list?
A:
Once approved for employment, you are placed on an eligibility list for one calendar year. During that year you can visit the Vacancy Webpage at www.teachinla.com/cert/vacancies and contact appropriate schools for a school site interviews.

Q: Do I have a say in what school or area I will work?
A:
Yes. When you are cleared by Human Resources to pursue vacancies, you may visit the Vacancy Webpage at www.teachinla.com/cert/vacancies and contact appropriate schools for a school site interview.

Q: I can't find a position. May I process as a substitute?
A:
Substitutes are added to our roster on an as needed basis. Check www.teachinla.com/substitute to learn if we are adding substitutes at this time.

 

FAQs- Out-of-State Candidates

Q: Are there relocation stipends or hiring bonuses available for teachers hired from outside of California?
A:
No. At the current time there are no funds available to provide relocation funds or hiring bonuses.

Q: Do I have a say in what school or area I will work?
A:
Yes. When you are cleared by Human Resources to pursue vacancies, you may visit the Vacancy Webpage at www.teachinla.com/cert/vacancies and contact appropriate schools for a school site interview.

Q: Will I need to complete the CBEST examination before I can work or obtain a teaching license / credential in California?
A:
No. Teachers who possess a state issued teaching license/credential that qualifies to be transitioned to California teaching credential, will be given one year to complete the CBEST examination.
